Educational Forum: Our Community, Our Kids, Our Schools
The Durham People's Alliance Fund and Public Schools Strong, in partnership with Durham for All, Comunidad de Durham, NCCU's Office of Community Engagement and Services, the DPS Foundation, Alianza por la Educación, Empowered Parents in Community, the NCCU School of Education, Durham Association of Educators and the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People will host an educational forum exploring taxes, school funding, and the proposed constitutional amendments that could radically change these systems.
We are thrilled to be joined by Alexandra Sirota from the NC Budget & Tax Center, Sara Howell from the Public School Forum of NC, and NC Representative Zack Hawkins. They'll share critical, advocacy-oriented information about the state budget and the proposed constitutional amendments and walk us through the landscape. Then we’ll connect neighbor-to-neighbor to talk about how we can work together to advocate for better public schools in Durham and across the state.
